New Yorkers get up to $250 for saving part of their tax refund
In addition to Ariva, Free Tax Prep Program, and in partnership with the City of New York, we will offer you the chance to open a $aveNYC Account for a 50% “match” up to $250 when you save part of your refund for at least one year. Families (with dependents) earning less than $45,000 and individuals earning less than $20,000 are eligible for a $aveNYC Account and free tax preparation with free e-file.
- Save $100 - $500 directly from your refund in a $aveNYC Account
- Keep your initial deposit saved for one year.
- The City of New York will match 50¢ for every $1.00 of your initial deposit (up to $250)
$aveNYC Accounts offer a unique opportunity to eligible tax filers to use a portion of their refund to build savings. Tax filers must deposit at least $100 of their refund to open the account and must keep it open for at least one year to get the match.
